What is Childrens Speech Pathology?

Childrens Speech Pathology assists childrens speech and language, preliteracy and literacy skills.

Who is this for? 

The service is open to children aged from 21 months to school entry, within families on Health Care Card, or low- medium income.

 Ranges CH works with children and their parents in a range of groups and individual therapy programs.

 Referrals are accepted for children who have a speech and language concern or delay in any of the following areas:

  • Expressive language (use of)
  • Receptive language (understanding)
  • Fluency
  • Voice
  • Speech sounds (articulation)
  • Attention and listening
  • Social language social skills

How can Speech Pathology assist you?

 The services available include:

  • Assessment and advice regarding development
  • Information and individual programming in consultation with the family to support the child's development, short and long-term.
  • Training for parents in management strategies and home programs.
  • Support for staff in community settings, including presentations to service providers as required.
  • Monitoring and review of progress

Therapy may be provided in individual and/or group sessions.
