School Readiness Assistant (Position filled)

The purpose of this specific role is to assist paediatric staff (speech pathologist and occupational therapist) during the school readiness group program. This group has been specifically designed for children who are in 4 year old preschool and will be commencing prep next year. The aims of the group are to further develop the child's fine and gross motor skills, verbal communication with peers and attention / listening skills. The children will attend this group and their parents will be involved in information sessions within the same building.

Water Exercise Assistant (positions currently filled)

The water exercise & aquatic physiotherapy classes have a wide variety of clients with varying physical and medical conditions. The classes are designed to not only be a carefully structured physical exercise program but should create an enjoyable social atmosphere. Aquatic physiotherapy sessions have a greater focus on individual clients needs, and tend to have a smaller number of participants than water exercise sessions.

Hopping not Flopping (positions currently filled)

The purpose of this specific role is to assist the Service's allied health assistant (session leader) in providing a fun and energetic exercise program for children that motivates them to be physically active. Parent involvement is an integral aspect of this program. It is a structured program aimed at children of primary school age who lack the interest or who are unable to participate in regular sporting activities.

Handwriting Skills Program Assistant (position available in our Lilydale based programs)

The purpose of this specific role is to assist the paediatric occupational therapist during the handwriting group. This group has been specifically designed for children who are in prep to grade 2 (early years of primary school) to further develop their handwriting and underlying skills. The children will attend this group with their parents, who will also be involved in the group.
