Counselling
Ranges Community Health Service aims to provide individuals and the community with counselling, group programs, education, information and support that facilitates positive change, promotes personal rights and responsibilities, and maximises the strengths of our clients.Counselling is an opportunity to take some time and space, in a safe and confidential setting, to explore whatever issues may be important to you or which may be causing you difficulty. Often a problem or dilemma is, when viewed afresh, an opportunity to learn something of great value about ourselves and how we view the world. Counselling can help you work through difficult feelings, discover new resources, and gradually gain a deeper experience and acceptance of yourself.The counselling staff are a team of professionals with backgrounds in psychology or social work, all with specific training and experience in therapeutic counselling.

We seek to provide a high quality service which will bring about significant improvements in the life experience of the clients with whom we work.

Setting Goals and Reviewing Progress
Your counsellor will help you formulate goals as part of achieving the changes you want in your life. It may be helpful to revise these and to review the counselling work from time to time. You can expect this to be part of the service you receive
Fees
There are fees for most community health services, including counselling. These are means tested. Your counsellor will discuss this with you and where necessary negotiate a suitable fee with you.
Confidentiality
Whatever you discuss with our counsellors is confidential. This means it is private and will not be disclosed to anyone else. However there are some areas where total confidentiality cannot be guaranteed and these include:The need for us to keep notes and records.The requirement of professional supervision of staff.The need to work as part of a team of professionals towards achievement of your goals.The need to disclose information to prevent or lessen a serious threat to the life or health of you or others.The need to comply with court proceedings.However, whenever confidential information is to be disclosed, where feasible and appropriate our staff will inform you of the circumstances before releasing that information.
Changing your Appointment
Our service is under great demand. If for some reason you are unable to attend a scheduled appointment, please call and let us know as soon as possible. We will be happy to arrange another time for you.
Complaints
If you are unsatisfied with any aspect of the service which you have received from Ranges Community Health Service we are very willing to receive your feedback and to address the situation in whatever way is possible or appropriate. Please contact the Chief Executive Officer.
