Alan Fincher

Alan was originally co-opted onto the Board in June 2006 and now stands as an elected member. Alan has been connected with Ranges for many years prior to his Board position having been involved with many Drug & Alcohol and Youth projects, through his occupation in the Yarra Ranges. A sergeant (in charge) at Monbulk Police Station for the past 18 years, Alan has knowledge and first hand experience of local issues. He has been a member of Victoria Police for over 34 years and including time in various metropolitan stations and several years in the CIB Fraud Squad. He also recently served for six years as a Councillor with Shire of Yarra Ranges which included a term as Mayor in 2003-04. In addition, Alan is also a member of the Yarra Ranges Health Community Advisory Group.
 
Stephen Potter

Stephen has served as a Board member since 2003 with lengthy involvement in financial management of Ranges CHS for many years.
He is currently an Accountant in his own practice being a Partner in Anderson & Associates, Accountants.
As a Certified Practicing Accountant he has 22 years experience in a multitude of businesses including roles in small business consultancy, development, taxation, budgeting and audit activities. His community involvement has also extended through Melba Support Services and Monkami, giving insight into the pertinent issues facing the Community Health sector from both a finance and operational view point.
 
Hamish Russell

Hamish has served on the Board since 2005 as an elected member. His professional experience has been at Senior Executive level within the Victorian Public Service (Agriculture & Health Departments); Department Executive Officer, RMIT University; Chairman & Executive Officer, Lilydale Community Hospital Inc.; and with a short term consultant to FAO & ADAB. Consequently, his skills entail Public sector corporate planning, organisational communication and health sector funding & accountability. Now in retirement and with an interest in community wellbeing and access to health services, Hamish chairs Yarra Ranges Health & Wellbeing Advisory Committee and is a member, Yarra Ranges Health Community Advisory Group.

 
Alison Cran

Elected Member.

Alison is the Director of Social and Economic Development with the Shire of Yarra Ranges, a position she has held for the last 7 and a half years. Her role includes responsibility for the planning and implementation of a range of services which have a direct impact on the health and wellbeing of communities and individuals, with particular emphasis on provision of early prevention and intervention services for individuals and groups with particular needs, and promotion of active participation in community.
Alison has been actively involved in a range of planning and advocacy initiatives related to the provision of health services across the shire, particularly the issues of access to acute emergency services, the shortage of GPs, personal emergency supports, and access to out of hours services.
