The Board of Governance represents the community and is the
'link' between the organisation and the community at large. Our
current Board is diverse with knowledge, experience and a skill
mix of executive and independent roles within the community.
Board of Governance of Ranges Community Health Service consists of five elected members and four appointed community representatives who meet monthly to govern the organisation to ensure effective performance
Board members are legally accountable for the performance of health service and for the quality of health services the Service provides.
The Board represents the community and ensures that the services reflect community need and that the community is involved in the decision-making processes.
Role of Board members
The role of board members is to:
- Monitor risk for key areas i.e. finances and assets, clinical activities, quality standards and client satisfaction
- To be the link with the community
- To set strategic directions to ensure that the needs of the community are met and that high quality services are provided within the limits of resources available.
Overall, the Board's role is to govern the organisation so that it achieves its aims and objectives while acting ethically and prudently, and remaining within the law.
