Child and Family Team


The Child and Family Team provides allied health services to children in the early years, and also services for adults such as counselling.

The range of services includes:

  • Counselling, including Women’s Family Violence counselling
  • Nursing
  • Occupational Therapy
  • Speech Pathology
  • Support services, such as Child and Family Support Worker, and Allied Health assistant.

 

Who is this for?

Services for children are generally available to pre school aged children, from families of low to medium income. OT is also available for children in early primary school, up to the age of 7.

The adult services are generally available to clients on a health care card.

 

How can the Child and Family Team assist you?

The Child and Family Team can provide screening and assessment, and then provide an appropriate course of therapy. Services are provided in both individual and group formats depending on need.

For children the services may include: assessment and advice about a child’s development, individual programming in consultation with the family to support the child’s development, short and long- term, training for parents in management strategies and home programs, and support for staff in community settings, such as pre-schools.
