Board of Governance

The responsibility for Ranges rests with its Board of Governance. The Board represents the community and is the link between Ranges and the community we serve. The Board ensures that the services we provide reflect community needs and that the community is involved in the decision-making process.

According to our constitution, the Board consists of not less than five and not more than eleven Directors. Currently we have seven Board Directors. The Board meets monthly to govern the organisation and to ensure its effective performance. Board members are legally accountable for the performance of Ranges and for the quality of health services we provide.

Our current Board is diverse with knowledge, experience and a skill mix of executive and independent roles in our community.

Role of our Board Directors

The main role of our Board Directors is to:

  • monitor key risk areas (e.g. finance and assets, clinical activities, quality standards and client satisfaction)
  • be the link with the community
  • set strategic directions to ensure that the needs of the community are met and that high quality services are provided within the limits of the resources available

Overall, the Board’s role is to govern the organisation so that it achieves its aims and objectives while acting ethically and prudently, and remaining within the law.
